I Let The Music Speak (ABBA)

For this post I borrow a title from one of ABBA’s most stunningly beautiful songs.

Fresh photos from Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center … Brian Schreck and his music therapy patient, EJ.

Can you “hear the images … see the songs”? True connection … warm smiles filling a room … making music on a little instrument with a big heart.

Pediatric Hospitals – Ukulele Donations

What do customers support when they buy a FLEA ukulele from True Joy Acoustics … WITHOUT a bumped-up price tag?

1. paid work for a visually impaired team … our exclusive Musician Maker Kits are assembled by Clovernook Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired in Cincinnati, OH

2. a stream of new FLEA ukuleles donated and used by hospitalized children … kids and families dealing with health challenges –– where participating in the music making process brings joy and therapeutic benefit.

Ukulele donations now span FOUR leading pediatric hospitals in the nation:

1. Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC) is our original and primary beneficiary of ukulele donations. CCHMC admits over 18,000 kids a year into their 478 bed facility. It ranks nationally as a top 5 pediatric hospital for specialties that include: cancer, diabetes/endocrinology, gastroenterology, kidney disorders, neonatology, orthopedics, pulmonology and urology.

Brian Schreck and his music therapy team (Jennifer Seley and Kathryn Yeager) routinely use five FLEA ukuleles donated last spring with many patients. Watch Brian strumming in this 1 minute video:
